UNIT 3

This unit we will cover the events that led to the American Revolution.  From the beginnings of independent mindsets during the French and Indian War to the rising tension of territorial expansion and taxation between American Colonist and the British the story of how we gained independence is a story of intrigue.  This unit focuses less on the governmental perspective, although we will cover the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the Founding Fathers, and more on our roots as smugglers and tenacity to avoid paying taxes.  This unit will highlight the economic, social, and rebellious nature of the Colonist during the Revolutionary Era.  The perspective covered in this course is a fascinating tale of how a bunch of rag tag Colonial merchants and farmers brought an end to the first British Empire, and founded the modern world’s foremost superpower.  This unit is called Tax Cheats and Terrorist: The Story of the American Revolution.
